The King and His Lady
Original Diptych inspired by The Storykeepers’ Daughter

This two-piece original set depicts Amry and Juy’Mond, central figures from The Storykeepers’ Daughter. The paintings were created by the author during the early visual development of the world—before the scenes and characters were fully committed to the pages of the book.

Painted as companion pieces, the works explore the emotional and symbolic contrast between the two characters.

His Lady stands poised beside the water, the long sword held upright as both promise and burden. The sea, the distant city, and the pale moon frame her quiet resolve. The heavy, textured sweep of dark hair behind her carries movement and weight, suggesting both power and the long history she carries.

The King stands alone on a rocky outcrop, holding a small sphere of light suspended in the air before him. The storm-colored sky surrounds him, emphasizing the solitude of leadership and the fragile glow of knowledge or magic held in his hand.

Together the paintings form a dialogue:
strength and reflection, presence and distance, ruler and witness.

These works represent an early artistic exploration of the world of The Storykeepers’ Daughter, created in the studio as the story itself was still forming.
