September 22 seemed like an awfully good excuse to gather around a table, eat entirely too much food, talk about stories, and celebrate a couple of particularly famous hobbit birthdays.

So that's what we're doing.

This is a casual, drop-in, Tolkien-inspired gathering at The Studio Above the Clouds.

There is no class.

There is no formal program.

There is no quiz at the door to determine whether you know the difference between Gondor and Rohan.

There will, however, be food.

There will be Po-ta-to Buns.

In honor of Samwise Gamgee.

Gardener.

Friend.

Bearer of burdens.

Lover of potatoes.

The real hero.

We'll have a hobbit-worthy spread of food and treats, tea and other drinks, and plenty of space to sit, wander around the studio, talk about books and stories, and enjoy being up on the mountain for a while.

Our own Creative Homestead foods will make an appearance too.

Costumes are welcome, but totally not required. They are fun though, right? 

Children and families are welcome.

Tolkien scholars are welcome.

People who vaguely remember that there was a ring involved are also welcome. It's cool, I get it.

How It Works

Come anytime between 3:00 and 7:00 PM.

Stay for ten minutes.

Stay for two hours.

Eat something.

Meet some people.

Look around the studio.

Talk.

Sit outside.

Play some games.

Have another potato roll...or three.

There is no more complicated plan than that.
